About us
Nixa Roof Co is owned by Jeremy McMillan, who has been building and repairing Ozarks homes since 2002. Most of our work comes from referrals and repeat customers — which is the only marketing that survives in a town this size.
The roofing business has a reputation problem, and it was earned. Here is what we do about it.
We also do roofing, siding, and gutters on custom homes and builder projects across the Ozarks — same crews and same standards as our retail work, on a schedule that fits the rest of the trades.

It depends on how much of the roof is damaged and what your policy says. In Missouri, most homeowner policies cover hail and wind damage. If an adjuster finds enough hits per test square, the carrier typically pays to replace the slope or the roof rather than patch it. If the damage is isolated, they pay for a repair. We document the roof either way and give you the honest read — a repair does not become a replacement because it is easier to sell.
Age alone does not disqualify a roof. What matters is whether your policy pays replacement cost value (RCV) or actual cash value (ACV). With an RCV policy, a 20-year-old roof with covered damage still gets paid at replacement cost minus your deductible. With ACV, the carrier deducts depreciation and you cover the rest. Check the dwelling section of your policy, or send it to us and we will read it with you.
Yes. On an insurance-funded roof, your deductible is your part of the job — that is the law in Missouri, and any contractor who offers to "eat" or "waive" it is asking you to take part in insurance fraud. We will never do that, and you should not hire anyone who will.
A typical Ozarks house is one day for tear-off and install, plus a cleanup pass. Bigger or steeper roofs, or homes with multiple layers, run two days. Weather is the only wildcard, and we would rather move a start date than dry-in a roof we cannot finish.
We handle the parts a contractor should: photo documentation, a line-item estimate, meeting your adjuster on site, and filing supplements when the carrier's scope misses code items or real damage. You stay the policyholder and you make every decision — we just make sure the file is complete enough to be paid correctly.
A denial is not the end of it. Most denials we see come from an incomplete inspection or a missed date of loss. We pull NOAA hail and wind history for your address, re-document the roof, and put together a written packet the carrier has to respond to. Send us the denial letter and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth appealing.
Yes — licensed and insured, and we carry the certificates to prove it. Ask for them before you sign anything, with us or with anyone else.
